White Wall Theory in Disguise

I can't recall when it was but it was over fifteen years ago that I first thought about creating my own theory - to be called the White Wall Theory. I have an old notebook with scribbles and drawings to help me elaborate on this idea. I don't have a finished product or any kind of manuscript but I did start this blog in 2009 to help me find the words for it. Shortly after starting this blog, I discovered that somebody had created a website called White Wall Theory and even had it copyright in 2010.

Yes, I was upset, actually furious that somebody out there had stolen White Wall Theory, and still has nothing to show for it on their site in 2012. After some time my frustration became curiosity. While I doubt that they even know what the White Wall Theory is, I am intrigued how they came to name their site exactly the same as my blog site. I've thought about contacting the email listed, whitewalltheory@gmail.com, but that's just too easy. Whoever you are, just know that I know what it all actually means.

Reflection: Continuing the Awesomeness of 2011

I know it's been a while since I've written anything on this blog. Over the past year, I have thought of posting many nonsensical words and moments in time, but I was a bit preoccupied with living them, as you may be able to tell from the sole post in 2011. The year 2011 has been a busy one filled with new discoveries, love,  marriage, professional changes, creative explorations, food experiments, and lots of German. But most importantly more time spent at home. I always thought I needed to be on the road, on the run to move forward. However, I discovered that sometimes moving forward means staying still. This stillness has given me a renewed sense of ambition and drive. I am super excited about the prospects of 2012, especially with some upcoming projects that will allow me to pursue my other passions in life - sustainable philanthropy and design - with my muse and partner.

I wish you all the stillness to move forward. Cheers to a prosperous and healthy new year to all!!

Lascivious Libations in London

Nothing

says sexy like Halston's soft silk charmeuse draped over skin.

Nothing tastes better than a gorgeously concocted cocktail
on a wet London evening.

Nothing is not a word to be used when describing
the bishop at hix or an autumn in normandie at ecc.

Nothing is greater than you
at this moment in time.

**ask for danny at hix and the french guy from brittany at ecc

Boys to Men: Move over size 36, hello size 42

It's about time that men's fashion grew up. I'm not saying that I don't enjoy seeing images of the skinny rocker dude in a tux, but I don't want to be disappointed when I rip off all his clothes. I am glad to see that the New York Times is featuring a much overdue article on the rediscovery of men's fashion, now and beyond. Maybe this shift from hiring boys to men will create jobs for the many unemployed hot men out there. And kudos to Details Magazine for casting Gabriel Aubry, who at 34 years old was once considered washed up in the male modeling business, for their Fall fashion issue.
